TDCJ inmate-information requests may be sent to pia@tdcj.texas.gov. The published information response is free, but it does not provide photographs. TDCJ Victim Services can assist with state notifications at 800-848-4284 or victim.svc@tdcj.texas.gov, 8712 Shoal Creek Blvd., Suite 265, Austin, TX 78757-6899. Use the Inmate Release Date and VINELink Release Check pages for the correct state and county channels.

For a federal sentence, use the Bureau of Prisons locator. For immigration custody, use ICE's detainee locator. Neither system is replaced by a Smith County search.
